Delta’s Phonetic Giveaway

Delta has had some fun in their latest campaign, in which they took over a wall in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

On this wall, they used the phonetic alphabet to reveal their latest giveaway. Once spelt out, consumers read “Instagram your dream destination and we might just send you there”.

By adding an image of their dream destination along with the hashtag #PiolotSweepstakes, participants would be in for a chance of bagging themselves two round trip tickets to their chosen destination.

The only catch is that they must spell out their dream destination using the phonetic alphabet to honor the way that the pilots communicate!


Emirates Uses VR Seat Models

On the topic of flying, Emirates claims to be the first airline to introduce web virtual reality (VR) on its digital platform with 3D seat models!

This gives customers the opportunity to explore seats, cabin and onboard offerings on their Boeing 777.

This new feature allows consumers to navigate around the plane, almost like a try before you buy!

In the near future, these 3D generated graphics will be expected across emirates entire fleet.


Instagram Story Feature

Instagram had been very popular recently with the introduction of their new app IGTV to rival Youtube.

In addition to this, they have also added a feature to add even more to their story option on the main Instagram app.

Now, users are able to add music to their stories, the app users are able to add a soundtrack from the thousands of well-known songs that they have on offer.

On the Instagram Blog, Instagram states you can “add a soundtrack to your story that fits any moment and helps you express how you’re feeling”. You can choose from “a library of thousands of songs” thanks to deals Facebook has secured with the major record labels.

Adding music to your Instagram story is very simple! Just go to add a sticker as you would normally, there is now a music icon that you can click and browse your options!


World Cup Payments

Last, but not least for this week, let’s talk about the World Cup, which is the topic on everyone’s lips! Watching all of that sport can be thirsty work, and It seems that contactless payment is the way to pay for refreshments at the stadiums in Russia this year!

Visa has reported that approximately 17% of purchases within the World Cup destinations in Russia have used contactless payment technology. These technologies include devices such as smartphones, bracelets and rings.

As well as this, the share of contactless payments within the stadiums hit an impressive 54%.
