Here’s our weekly round-up, giving you a quick update on the latest and most interesting campaigns in the world of ecommerce and digital marketing.

Amazon Pet Profiles

We all love pets. They come in all different shapes and sizes so there’s a perfect pet to fit every family. Whether it be fury, slithery, or anything in between, Amazon recognizes the importance of a pet within a family.

Personally, I know that my dogs are a tad spoilt and I’m sure my family are not the only people guilty of indulging our pets a bit too much. That’s why the online retail giant has created a unique pet profile to ensure you are purchasing the best products for your furry (or non-furry- we don’t discriminate) friend.

The retail giant allows users to enter a series of information about their beloved pet, for example; age, species/breed, name. Then a profile for your pet will be created. You can even add a profile picture of your pet to personalise this even more!

By entering this information Amazon is able to provide curated purchase suggestions to specifically suit your pets. For first time buyers from this pet profile allows users to receive a 20% discount on a pet food order.

This is a great concept to give your animal friend some extra TLC and make the purchasing process a lot easier for us pet parents.

A New Way for Kids to Communicate

Kids and Facebook are two words that just don’t sound right together. However, thanks to the all-new messenger kids app, under 13s are now able to communicate with their friends and family through the platform.

This app has been created as a Facebook alternative for young people after previous attempts of preventing under 13s opening accounts have failed.

This app is run through the parent’s Facebook account and has strict parental controls including contact approvals. Only parents have the ability to add friends or delete messages to ensure the safety of their children.

At the moment, this app is only available in the USA and on IOS devices but be sure to keep an eye out for this rolling out onto other devices in the near future.

Technology First Beverages

Cola Cola are preparing for a digital first future with artificial intelligence powered vending machines being introduced in Japan, Coca Cola’s most popular market.

Consumers in Japan can walk up to any of the one million Coca-Cola vending machines and redeem loyalty rewards with their phones. For example, customers can be rewarded a free bottle of coke using an app on their smartphones.

This is done by using an app and scanning a code on the vending machine. Once a consumer has scanned a certain amount of codes with each purchase they will receive a reward.

The app named ‘Coke on’ is approaching six million downloads. So it’s fair to say that consumers are loving the AI addition to a vending machine.

If Coca-Cola expands this to other markets will you be using this?
